Update Install

POST /installs/{id}/update

Update an install.

Note: this API was previously named upgrade. Both "upgrade" and "update" are accepted and will continue to work.

/installs/{id}/update
API endpoint.

{id} is the internal ID of the install to update.

Optional parameters

The version to update to. Use GET /browser/{id} API to retrieve a list of available versions for an installer.

Note: A value of
current
here will skip core updating; useful when you want to update only plugins and themes.

default is to update to the newest version that can be auto-updated to

Special parameters

background
boolean
Determines whether a task is run as a foreground or background process.
  • false
    = No backgrounding (the task will complete before returning to your script or prompt).
  • true
    = Return to your script after preliminary error checking is completed (disk space, PHP requirements, etc) and then perform the rest of the task on a different process.
Use the GET /tasks API to query the status of a background task.

Perform a test run of this API call: run the tests, check connections to the database server and remote locations, but don't actually perform this task itself. This is just a test-run to make sure that when it is run for real that there is nothing to stop it from working.

    = No dry run.
  • all
    = Check all input values and test all connections.

    = Check only the input values.

invalid_argument_version_unmetrequirements
The selected version of this application is not compatible with the domain's MySQL/MariaDB/PHP environment.

invalid_api_key
The server's Installatron Server Key is invalid.
invalid_argument_user
User specified is not authorized to access this data.

install_not_found
The app ID was not found or it was found by is owned by a user who does not have access to it.
user_not_found
The specified user could not be found in the Installatron Server database.

failed_website_vhost
User's webhosting account does not manage this domain. That is, the domain is in the account's vhosts list.
failed_filesystem_directory
The folder where this application was installed no longer exists. The application's files have been deleted or moved.
failed_filesystem_host
Unable to reach the remote host.
failed_filesystem_login
The SFTP/FTP/SFTP server rejected the login.
failed_filesystem_ondemand
(Only when when enablePath is defined in /usr/local/instalatron/etc/panel.php) The path was invalid.
failed_filesystem_permission
Insufficient user permissions to the path provided.
failed_filesystem_quota
User's Disk Space or Files Usage (inodes) quota was exceeded.
