phpList version 3.0.0 is now available (major release).
Upgrading to phpList 3.0.0
phpList 3.0.0 can be upgraded to (or installed) using any of Installatron's products. Use Installatron's optional Automatic Update feature to automatically apply phpList updates as new versions are released, or use Installatron's Clone feature to duplicate an existing phpList install to test the 3.0.0 upgrade prior to applying it live. What's New in phpList 3.0.0
These are the most important changes:
- Interface. We have updated and improved the interface. It is adaptive to different screen sizes, including mobiles. Some of the terminology has also been changed for clarity.
- Security. Several elements of phpList have been made even more secure, particularly password encryption. phpList security is also verified by HTTPS web vulnerability scanner.
- Translations. All of phpList now runs using UTF-8, and works smoothly in languages other than English. The translation system has also been updated and translations can be refreshed whenever they are updated on the community translation site.
- Click tracking. The click tracking has been improved, so that it handles large amount of links, subscribers and campaigns.
- Plugins. The phpList system has extended functionality through plugins, so that you can tweak the way it works by installing additional plugins.
- Admin permissions. The system to manage administrators and their permissions has changed. The list-ownership mechanism is still in place.
- HTML. You can now use html in the footer of campaigns and you can define a html template for system mesasages to make the system messages look more professional.
- RSS Manager. The original RSS functionality has been removed and is now a plugin. The plugin is still in beta so send us feedback if you encounter any issues.
- Attribute select. The criteria system for sending campaigns to subscribers based on attributes has become a plugin.
- PHP5.3 phpList now works with PHP5.3 and up.
