Imports from Media Temple and wp-config database info

Post by jas8522 » Sat Feb 16, 2019 7:43 pm

Hey guys,

Recently, while importing from a WordPress install on MediaTemple, they appear to have custom configured the wp-config.php file so as to read the database host from an environment variable. This means wp-config has this:

Code: Select all

define('DB_HOST', $_ENV{DATABASE_SERVER});
Upon login to shell and running echo $DATABASE_SERVER the hostname became: internal-db.s223769.gridserver.com

However an import with Installatron failed because it couldn't read the database info until I manually replaced $_ENV{DATABASE_SERVER} with internal-db.s223769.gridserver.com in the wp-config.php file.

I wonder if Installatron could detect the use of $_ENV and look up the environment variable to get the true db hostname.

Not priority as I've only ever seen this the one time, but *could* be something common with MediaTemple imports in the future.

Hello,

In fact this environment variable should already be checked. Please open a ticket at the below link if you continue to experience issues.
