Server administrators can use Installatron to forcibly update these plugins from the server command line. To forcibly update both plugins for all WordPress installs on a server, execute the below command from the server SSH root command prompt. This beta-quality feature requires Intallatron Plugin 8.0.13 (or newer) or Installatron Server 3.0.14 (or newer).

The "Limit Login Attempts" WordPress plugin can now be enabled as part of the standard Installatron WordPress install to help improve WordPress login security. When enabled, the rate of WordPress login attempts will be limited, including by way of cookies, for each IP. Website owners can enable this option for new installs and for existing installs.
This is not the best solution to prevent WordPress logins from being bruteforced. While limiting login attempts helps, server load will still be affected by the increased traffic, and attackers can employ a wide range of IP addresses to circumvent the block. Deploying a Web Application Firewall (WAF) can specifically target this traffic and provide a generally superior solution to the same problem.
The option to enable limited login attempts for WordPress will become available for your customers with the next forced or automatic Installatron Update. This option can be disabled at Installatron Admin >> Features (bottom of the page).
While not necessary, limited login attempts can be forcibly enabled for all existing WordPress installs on a server by executing the below command from the server SSH root command prompt. If any problems are encountered with limited login attempts, the feature can be disabled per installed application using the UI's "view/edit details" button or with a variation of the same SSH command (swap 'on' to 'off' and optionally change --id to target a specific install).
/usr/local/installatron/installatron --edit --id='*' --limitloginattempts on

We have unveiled a new pricing model that is aimed to make Installatron more affordable for everyone.
Under the new model, we no longer require bulk purchases to receive a discount; instead, discounts are now based on the total number of active licenses owned at the time of purchase and renewal. That is, the more active licenses you own the cheaper the next one is to purchase, and the renewal fee for all your licenses is based on the number of active licenses that you own at the time of renewal. To view license purchase and renewal cost at specific numbers of active licenses, see the table on our pricing page.
As part of the new model, we have also introduced monthly VPS licenses starting at $2.50 per month. All of our VPS Licenses will work on Virtual Private Servers ("VPS") that also have fewer than 100 hosted domains or less than 1100MB dedicated memory. Servers that do not have VPS software, or that have both more than 100 hosted domains and more than 1100MB dedicated memory, require a Dedicated-Server license. All major virtualization software is supported, including Virtuozzo, OpenVZ, VMware, Xen, and others.
The new pricing model, including the new monthly VPS licenses, is immediately effective for new purchases. Existing licenses will continue on the model they were purchased, and may be converted to the new model by opening a ticket. Clients with old custom contracts may choose to continue to purchase those licenses. We have been planning these changes for some time and no further price changes are expected in the foreseeable future.

The freshly-released Plesk 9.0 is also completely supported by Installatron 5.2, for all operating systems supported by Plesk. See Installatron Requirements for a full list of supported software.
We have also opened up the control panel system with an API, allowing intergration of Installatron into... well, just about anything. The immediate benefit will be to hosting providers who use customized control panel software, whom can now make the world's best auto-installer (I'm talking about Installatron) available to their users. As for other uses, it will be interesting to watch developments. Details on the control panel API can be found here.
Development will now focus on 5.3, and the cool things therein.

30 September 2008
Installatron 5.1 has been released, with some new major features (to go with the website redesign). Most notable is the new Converter tool, found in Administration > Tools, which allows you to quickly and easily import/convert, into the Installatron format, installs created by a long list of other auto-installers (specifically: Fantastico, Application Vault, CPAddon Scripts, CPSkins Auto-Installer Pro, and CPSkins PSA-Installer Pro). Migration to Installatron is as easy as it's ever been.
Additionally, the old three-day demonstation license has been replaced with a new FREE SINGLE-DOMAIN EDITION. This free edition, which is free to use for as long as you like, will be locked to the first domain that you install a script on, and can be easily upgraded to the unlimited-domain version by purchasing a license. Speaking of which, the installation and purchasing systems have been greatly improved, so both trying and/or buying as now very simple.
Work is already well underway with version 5.2.
