Installatron can be upgraded, updated, repaired, and just generally tested at any time by clicking
run Installatron update now in Installatron (Administration >> License & Logs), or by:
Linux/Unix/FreeBSD
To perform a repair on Linux/Unix/FreeBSD, run these three commands as the
root user:
wget http://data1.liquenox.com/installatron/installatron_setup.sh
chmod 755 installatron_setup.sh
./installatron_setup.sh -f
Tip: To run repair in
interactive mode, remove
-f from the last command.
Windows
To perform a repair on Windows, re-run the
installatron_setup.exe wizard.
The update/repair command can be run any time and as often as you like.
The upgrade from version 3 to version 5 sees some major changes to Installatron's file layout and format. The upgrade process installs a fresh copy of version 6, imports all the settings and logs from version 3, and then removes version 3.
A few upgrade scenerios:
An Installatron 3.x.x crontab process is setup
Version 3 crontab processes will not automatically upgrade Installatron to version 6. Run the manual upgrade commands listed above.
No Installatron crontab process is setup
Run the manual upgrade commands listed above. This will also create a new crontab process for automatic Installatron updating.
Note that the old Installatron 3.x.x backup directories are not converted or deleted, so they are left to the user. Old backups are located in /home/user_directory/itron_backups/.
