Installatron Server is an API and optional GUI that enables the Installatron web application automation platform to be incorporated into existing web hosting infrastructure. With almost a decade of testing and improvements as its foundation, deploying Installatron Server bypasses expensive development costs and gives website owners access to the best solution on the market. Installatron Server can be self-hosted or hosted as a service on Installatron.com.
Two hosting configurations are available when self-hosting:
Installatron Server is hosted on one or more centralized servers. Application files are "pushed" over a transparent FTP, FTPS, or NFS layer to any hosted web hosting account.
Installatron Server is hosted on each web hosting server. This option offers a slight performance advantage as there is no overhead from network communication, however there can be considerably more maintenance as each web hosting server is running its own instance of Installatron Server.
Regardless of the hosting configuration chosen, these interfaces can be used to integrate Installatron Server into existing infrastructure:
HTTP API
A JSON interface and a URL-encoded pair interface is available.
Command-line API, bypassing HTTP protocol overhead
A JSON interface and a human-friendly --key=value pair interface is available.
Installatron Server GUI
To save integration time and cost, an optional GUI is available. It is possible to re-brand and/or re-theme the GUI. A simple link with embedded account information is all that's necessary to load a user into the GUI.
