What is Installatron Remote?
Installatron Remote is a turn-key, state-of-the-art web application auto-installer and auto-upgrader (also known as a script installer) developed by Installatron for website owners and businesses.
Installatron Remote is a hosted solution that connects to existing web hosting accounts to automatically install, upgrade, modify, clone, backup and restore a growing collection the best applications on the web.
What are the system requirements?
Designed to maximize compatibility, Installatron Remote will work with virtually any web hosting account. However, the web applications installed by Installatron Remote have their own system requirements. The recommended server configuration to enable wide application compatibility is as follows:
- Any web hosting server (IIS, Apache or Nginx recommended)
- MySQL 5.6 or newer (MySQL 8 recommended), MariaDB 10 or newer (MariaDB 10.5 recommended)
- PHP 7 or newer (PHP 8 recommended)
- A suexec PHP process handler like php-fpm, mod_ruid2, or SuPHP is recommended. In general, executing PHP processes as the filesystem owner provides benefits in the form of increased security and ease of administration. Note that some applications may not work in conjunction with suPHP, particularly Feng Office and WordPress
- Recommended error reporting in PHP.INI:
error_reporting = E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE & ~E_STRICT & ~E_DEPRECATED
- Recommended max execution time of at least 30 seconds in PHP.INI (higher values are considered better as some apps like Magento need extra time)
- Required PHP modules for maximum application compatibility:
- Required PHP extensions for maximum application compatibility:
- Required PHP settings for maximum application compatibility:
* These can be considered if their configuration is careful. If any of these are enabled then you should test Installatron on a wide variety of applications before considering the configuration compatible with Installatron and the applications that Installatron installs.
* If the suhosin module is used then suhosin.executor.include.whitelist must include phar.
- Required Perl modules for maximum application compatibility:
- Perl DBI and DBD-mysql (specifically for Coranto and Dada Mail)
- Required MySQL settings for maximum application compatibility:
- The Baraccuda database format rather than Antelope (specifically for Moodle)
- max_sp_recursion_depth = 100 (specifically for Zurmo)
- sql_mode=[...] must not include the STRICT_TRANS_TABLES directive (specifically for Feng Office & OSTicket)
- Additional server requirements for maximum application compatibility:
- Webhosting account file limits cannot be below 350,000 (specifically for Chamilo upgrading)
- The server cannot employ loopback bans -- specifically; neither the server's firewall nor the MySQL server's firewall can blacklist the user's domain, the domain's IP address, the literal value "localhost", or the IP address 127.0.0.1
It's alright if you don't know if your web hosting account meets these requirements. Incompatible applications and application versions are handled gracefully; Installatron Remote will automatically alert you when it encounters an application requirement that isn't met.

Can I recommend a web application be added?
Absolutely. We're constantly reviewing new web applications for inclusion. However, only the best applications are provided to our customers; applications that are complicated to use and applications that do not offer unique functionality complicate the website owner experience and are therefore avoided.
To make a recommendation, open a ticket. Be sure to include a summary of the advantages the application provides.
How often are the application installers updated?
Critical updates are guaranteed to be tested and deployed within hours of release by the application vendor. This includes non-business day releases.
Non-critical updates weigh speed with stability, and in some cases the developers actually let us know when they think the latest version is ready to be deployed to Installatron. Standard releases for stable or popular web applications usually follow the "critical" update path, while larger version changes (and certain applications) might be given some breathing space to ensure stability.
