HOW TO UPDATE MySQL

Post by sdunning45@gmail.com » Thu Jan 21, 2016 5:35 pm

Hello,

I'm getting the following error when trying to install Magneto via 1 click.

"Installing: Error: Sorry, but we support MySQL version 5.6.0 or later."

Magneto version 2.0.0

Is there anyway to upgrade MySQL?

If you are on fresh ubuntu server, you can install MySQL 5.6 by using this command.

sudo apt-get install mysql-server-5.6

Or upgrade your MySQL server to 5.6 by following these steps.

Step 1 : Take databases backup

Code: Select all

mysqldump --lock-all-tables -u root -p --all-databases > dump.sql
Step 2 : Remove old version of MySQL

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get remove mysql-server
sudo apt-get autoremove
Step 3 : Install new version of mysql

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install mysql-client-5.6 mysql-client-core-5.6
sudo apt-get install mysql-server-5.6
Step 4 : Restore your databases

Code: Select all

mysql -u root -p < dump.sql
Because upgrading to MYSQL 5.6 will help you to resolve your issue
