DirectAdmin offers custombuild, a different way from the old way, to install apache2, and for security options use suphp and php5-cgi.
Now, with php5 running in cgi mode things like "php_flag register_globals on", as needed for oscommerce for example, the .htaccess file is completely ignored. Since Installatron would add said line to the .htaccess you're left with an installation that doesn't work.
Does Installatron check for which version of php is installed (cli or cgi) and is it able to write to either .htaccess in the application's directory or to php.ini in the user's home directory based on this?
If not, are there any plans to support this?
DA's custombuild and Installatron
Re: DA's custombuild and Installatron
We're working on some changes to the Requirements system in Installatron, so we decided to incorporate this stuff while we're digging around in there.
Let's say sometime between right at this very moment and a week from now. Stay tuned.
Rowan.

That is excellent news!

Rowan,
Any news on the status? We're going live this weekend.

Re: DA's custombuild and Installatron
Hi,
Yes, the changes were published. We haven't heard of any problems with it so the new system seems to be working fine.
If you spot any problems with it open a support ticket and we'll have a look at it.
Rowan.

Rowan (or any other perfectly helping installatron support personnel),
We just installed oscommerce on one of our new servers and there was no php.ini anywhere in the user's directory. (ticket 13852655 created as requested).
