can somebody please paste an example catalog file?

I made one using the installer gui, but i get:

Error
No application installers found in specified catalog.

- XML at index 0 malformed.



here is the file with the details changed

What you posted actually looks like a valid Catalog file. Note the Installatron GUI Installer Editor tool on our website will generate catalog files for you. Just check the "Publisher" tab for details.

can you see any other reasons it might be causing this error?

No, I'm afraid not. One thing to check is that you're on the latest edge build:

/usr/local/installatron/repair -f --edge

Also, what's the URL to your XML file?
