Another SugarCRM Issue

Postby markb1439 » Thu Jul 23, 2009 9:08 pm

Hmm, my web server logs show TONS of errors...an error virtually every time I do anything in SugarCRM. A SMALL sample (XXXXX inserted by me to mask location):

[Thu Jul 23 18:54:34 2009] [error] [client 75.176.46.8] File does not exist: /home/XXXXX/public_html/403.shtml, referer: http://www.XXXXX.com/sugarcrm/index.php ... DetailView
[Thu Jul 23 18:54:34 2009] [crit] [client 75.176.46.8] (13)Permission denied: /home/XXXXX/public_html/sugarcrm/cache/jsLanguage/Tasks/.htaccess pcfg_openfile: unable to check htaccess file, ensure it is readable, referer: http://www.XXXXX.com/sugarcrm/index.php ... DetailView

Any ideas?

Solved. Tracked to a cPanel issue.

Oops, I was wrong. cPanel says it's a SugarCRM permissions issue, and I've done a ton of research which seems to confirm that this error message indicates Sugar permissions issues (a source of trouble for many Sugar users).

Could Installatron need to set some permissions differently during installation?

Thanks.

BTW, this article seems to be a good summary of the many permissions and other details needed to get SugarCRM running smoothly.

If these are all necessary, is Installatron doing all of these?

Thanks,

Mark

Or is this a suPHP issue, with Installatron not assigning the proper ownership to the SugarCRM files it installs?

Hi,

Can you let me know if this issue is being reviewed/addressed?

Thanks,

BTW, I checked our other server and this issue is there too. It only seems to affect SugarCRM...I can use WordPress and other PHP apps all day without these error messages, but Sugar always has them (in case this info helps).

Hello,

Yes, we're looking into this. However, Installatron is just using SugarCRM's recommended permission configuration.

We'll keep this thread updated.

Thanks,
Phil.

Thanks! I have tried every recommended fix for things like this, along with every conceivable combination of file and folder permissions, etc., etc.

Any help will be appreciated.

Mark
