Joomla cloning does not handle database consistently

I need to upgrade a Joomla 1.5 site to 2.5, using Jupgrade.
To avoid problems I use the clone tool first, which creates a new Joomla (2) and the details indicate a new database (jos1).
But the Joomla (2) seems to act still on the previous database, the Joomla Global Configuration - server tab still shows the previous database including previoius user name and prefix. Changing them manually in this panel leads to sql disconnect.

Applying the Jupgrade tool to Joomla (2) does not show errors, but makes changes in the previous database. Next installing the Dutch language package for 2.5 does not work, the language is visible in the file system, but does not show in the language manager. (this could be a different problem though).

Thanks for the report. I just tested this case. The values were correctly updated with the exception of configuration.php's "$user" variable.

I've entered a but report. A fix should be included in the next minor version, 8.0.1, which is due for release tomorrow.
