Installatron on cPanel is broken

Postby geneinmyrtlebeach » Mon Jan 11, 2010 8:55 pm

I have been using installatron for over a year now, and something has happened. I can no longer install applications on my customers domains. When a customer logs in to their control panel, clicks Installatron, the installatron screen comes up and an application can be selected. When you click an application, select 'Install this application, then click next, a browser window pops up that says "Connection has been lost! This is probably because session has expired. Please open a new window and try your connection again."

Also, when you login to the main cPanel interface as the root user, you can see the Installatron Application Manager plugin, but clicking it does nothing.

I've tried rebooting. I've tried reinstalling. When I try the reinstall './installatron_setup.sh -f
', I get this:

Installatron Install & Repair Utility,
Rev. 2.4 (2009-04-09)

Internal PHP Binary: /usr/local/bin/php
Detecting supported Fetch drivers... done.

Choose a Fetch driver:
[0] System CURL Binary /usr/bin/curl
Using: [0] System CURL Binary /usr/bin/curl

Detecting supported archive extraction handlers... done.

Choose a `tar.gz' archive extraction handler:
[0] /bin/tar
[1] PHP zlib Extension via Archive_Tar
Using: [0] /bin/tar

Choose a `zip' archive extraction handler:
[0] /usr/bin/unzip
Using: [0] /usr/bin/unzip

Updating ionCube loaders... done; `lin_x86' is working.

Checking license...
PHP Binary Version: 5.2.5 (major version 5)...

------ and it just sits there.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

This is caused by an ionCube incompatibility with PHP 5.3. Try this:

Code: Select all

curl -O http://data1.liquenox.com/installatron/installatron_setup.sh
./installatron_setup.sh -f --edge

If that doesn't help, this should get it working:

Code: Select all

rm -f /usr/local/installatron/bin/php
ln -s /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/bin/php /usr/local/installatron/bin/php
curl -O http://data1.liquenox.com/installatron/installatron_setup.sh
./installatron_setup.sh -f

If there are any questions let us know.

Cheers,
Phil.

Anyone know how to fix this on a DA installation. Am having the exact same problem with several DA servers and getting no response from installatron's tickets.

Hello,

The issue is caused by incompatibilities between ionCube and PHP 5.3. We're working with ionCube to get this fixed ASAP.

If there's a PHP 5.2 binary on the server, use the above commands but change the /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/bin/php path to the location of the 5.2 binary.

Thanks,
Phil.

Note the OP seems to be using php 5.2.5. Updating to php 5.2.12 solved this issue for me. I should say that I am running directadmin and not cpanel.

An update:

ionCube released new loaders last week that appear to fix most of the PHP 5.3 issues. We've updated the loaders packaged with Installatron.

Phil.

For a DirectAdmin installation with PHP Version 5.2.6-1+lenny4 could you please provide the correct commands & paths to correct this issue ?

is it /usr/local/directadmin/plugins/installatron ?

thanks

Hi,

For DirectAdmin or any other control panel we support try this:

Code: Select all

rm -fr /var/installatron/tmp /usr/local/installatron/lib/ioncube
/usr/local/installatron/repair -f

If issues persist let us know.

Thanks,
Phil.
