WordPress uploads path configuration override

Postby jas8522 » Thu Jan 24, 2013 9:28 am

Hello,

After installing WordPress via Installatron plugin for Plesk 9 or 10, it always manually overrides the uploads path from the default configuration value via wp-config.php like this:

define('WP_TEMP_DIR', '/var/www/vhosts/<domain>/httpdocs/wp-content/uploads');

Yet the default of wp-content/uploads tends to work in every case. Having this setting in place makes the code less portable. On Plesk 10, moving the folder the hosting is configured in, causes uploads to fail to function because of this setting. (ie: changing from httpdocs to mywebsite or something similar).

I don't think this really needs to be set at all, as WordPress' default configuration for this always seems to work fine for me. Therefore I request that this override be removed from a default install of WordPress.

Those that actually require such a setting can always configure it under "Customization" anyway, right?

Jordan,

We can probably update Installatron to use a relative path there. I'll check into this and get back to you later today!

Thanks,
Phil

Jordan,

We've pushed this modification. The next server automatic update (usually around midnight server time) will download the changes.

If you have any questions let us know.

Thank you,
Phil
