Windows FTP server

Postby womariya » Sun Jul 31, 2011 2:36 am

How can I allow certain users to view certain directories? I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard and I have configured an FTP server. Now I would like to allow different users to access different directories and only those directories after entering proper credentials. How can I do this? Is there software or can I do it in Windows?

Hello,

I'm afraid this is out of our area of expertise. This forum is for Installatron. You'll probably get better results posting to a Windows support group.

Thanks,
Phil.

I installed FTP on XP before, but it really doesn't work well. My home network is too slow for upload; and it took me a long time to figure out Active and Passive FTP. I would recommend go with an FTP hosting service. There are free FTP hosting service providers, which offers great speed and great service. Try http://www.drivehq.com/ftp/
