APC, Zend, ionCube

Postby Johannes » Mon Apr 11, 2011 4:05 am

I have found in this board that Installatron is not coded by the Zend or ionCube Framework. Is this right?
I am wondering if I could use APC as Caching Engine on my server, which is known to be not compatible with Zend nor ionCube.

Do I can use Installatron on APC-cached box?

Thank you

APC shouldn't cause any issues that can't be worked around.

Installatron is encoded by the latest version of the ionCube encoding system (4.x). However, Installatron uses a separate PHP configuration (at /usr/local/installatron/etc/php.ini), so it's likely to be unaffected by the use of APC for the main server PHP configuration.

If that still causes issues for APC, a completely separate copy of PHP can be installed, and Installatron can be set to use this copy by modifying the symbolic link at /usr/local/installatron/bin/php.

If there are any questions let us know.
