Configuring a default install location

Postby donnacha » Sat Feb 14, 2009 3:45 pm

Hi,

Still experimenting with making installers for WordPress plugins, I'd like to configure a default install location because it's always going to be the same, wp-content/plugins.

I am aware of $this->path and $this->url but the examples given in the commands list seem to involve the location of an individual file, config.php, not the entire install, i.e. "$this->sr("config.php", "#install_path#", $this->path);"

Also, is there a way to remove the Install Location section of the resulting installer's installation interface? Or would that be bad practise?

You could use this addition to the version-level init.xml:

Code: Select all

<information>
    <info id="default-dir" value="default_directory_name"/>
</information>

Where default_directory_name would be "wp-content/plugins".

However, as I said in the other post, I think you'd be better off asking for the Wordpress root directory (and you can add an error check for it to step1_process() ).

Rowan.

Right, I'll give this a shot now.
