Cleanup before install option

Post by interfaSys » Sun Nov 09, 2014 1:51 pm

Installatron seems happy to just "dump" files in a "dirty" directory when installing apps, but a lot of hosts will install a standard template into a folder and to mix files is not the cleanest of approaches.

I understand that it's a good thing to have when removing an app: to restore the domain to its original state, but perhaps Installatron could create an archive of the public_html file prior to installing an app and restore that if the user removes the app.

Hello,

Currently, any "index" files are renamed up to allow the install to proceed, however beyond that nothing is changed. Archiving existing content is an interesting idea. I'll see if we can fit this into the next release.

Kind regards,

Yes, this is definitely a good idea.
If there are any updates, I hope we'll know.
