Only expose the folders which should be public

Postby interfaSys » Tue Oct 14, 2014 1:35 pm

Some apps and frameworks come with a public folder (can be named differently) containing assets and virtual routes. It's the only folder which needs to be accessible through the web server, for security reasons.

It would be great if Installatron could modify the apps' web server config to make sure the document root starts with that public folder, as intended by the app developers. It would also make it easier to import existing installs.

It's really easy to do with something like Directadmin (|?DOCROOT=) and probably in the appliance. Not sure about the other setups.

Hello,

We may be able to support this with the next major release. However, I can't say just yet whether the feature will make the cutoff point. In any case, it's something we're working on.

Thanks,
Phil
