Is there anywhere I could enter in notes when creating a backup to keep track of why I did that backup?

Hello,

No, this isn't possible currently. Backups are automatically labeled with the title of the app and the date the backup was created. We'll take this suggestion into consideration for a future release.

Is there any updates on this or when 8.1 is releasing. No biggie, it's just confusing to remember why the backup was created if it wasn't a core update.

Hello,

I don't have an ETA on 8.1 at this time, however I can confirm it's currently under development and will be released as soon as possible.

We may be able to push this feature with an 8.0.x release. We'll discuss the feasibility of this option and I'll let you know (I really can't say for sure if it's an option--this feature may rely on too many of the other changes coming in 8.1).

We discussed this further yesterday and concluded that due to reliance on other 8.1 features this isn't something we can push early. It'll be included with 8.1.
