osCommerce Version

Hi guys

We had a request about osCommerce today. I realized that the most recent version in Installatron is 2.3.1. Are there any plans to move to the 3.x branch?

The 3.x version is still in a development stage. As far as we're aware, large segments of it are yet to be completed. More on it here:

We'll add 3.x to the Installatron platform as soon as it's finished.

According to that website the release for 3.0 was in March 2011. As far as I'm informed the current Version is already 3.0.2 (http://www.oscommerce.com/solutions/downloads).

OSC 3.x is just a framework at this point. It still lacks crucial features to actually replace OSC 2.x. Once it's complete, we'll add it.

There's quite a lot of information regarding 3.x's status on their forums. Here's one I found:
