With the latest release of Installatron, installing applications has never been easier. The single page configuration and one click installs are fantastic! However there does remain one portion of the process that is still confusing to first-time installers and is unnecessarily complex for administrators: the domain selection dropdown.
In Plesk, it currently lists all domains available to the user logged in like this for each domain:
The first entry is disabled (a title) and the second entry is the selectable domain. This is confusing for two reasons:
1. Why does there need to be a title if the title is simply a non-selectable equivalent of the value below it?
2. Having the option for [domain] and [www.domain] confuses most non-technical people. Although I can see why some people would like that option, most apps will always provide the option to change that later anyway (in the gui config or the configuration file).
This is even more annoying/confusing to administrators since you get one giant list of duplicated domains that aren't even clearly separated by client.
I suggest it be changed to look like this:
[client 2 (title)]
This way the title of each section of domains is the client they belong to and each domain/subdomain is only listed once.
The client names are the non-selectable titles and the domains are not listed with their www equivalents. In Plesk this makes perfect sense anyway since often domains are created without checking the 'www' box (accidentally) and when the www is added in, it's an Apache alias anyway (it should still work just fine).
I hope this suggestion is considered, as it would make installing applications much clearer and simpler to install to first-time users and administrators alike.
