This edge release will see some minor tweaking over the beta period, but is functionally complete.
What's new in Installatron 6.0?
New Graphical User Interface
Improved Workflow For All User Tasks
Branched Core Upgrading (Stable, Release, Edge)
More details will be made available on each item when 6.0 goes "release".
How do you test Installatron 6?
Run this command as root to upgrade to the latest "edge" build:
Code: Select all
/usr/local/installatron/repair -f --edge
And to downgrade, if you wish to return to the latest 5.x "release", run this as root:
Code: Select all
/usr/local/installatron/repair -f --release
There is no harm in trying edge, and you can even remain on 6.0 if you experience no problems. Downgrading back to 5.x is also risk-free.
Is there documentation?
The new documentation is temporarily located here for users:
And here for administrators:
This new documentation will be fully linked from the new Installatron GUI before 6.0 becomes "release".
What sort of testing can I do?
Please give Installatron 6 as thorough test as you can and let us know if you experience any problems at all. At the end of the beta period Installatron 6.0 will become the "release" version, meaning that it will automatically become the live version on all servers that have Installatron installed, and we're very keen to ensure it's in working order on as many web hosting environments between then and now as possible.
If you run into any problems at all please open a support ticket here:

We're also interested in feedback on the changes, either here or via the ticket system if you don't want to create a forum account.
