Re: Joomla 1.5

Unfortunately we can't write our own converter for something as complex as Joomla. We're limited by what Joomla makes available. I had decided to not support migrator in the installer, but your post changed my mind so I ended up making two install systems: a regular install that bypasses Joomla's in...

Re: Kudos

I'm glad that you like Installatron 5. :) Thanks for the recommendation, however there's little to no chance that we'll be adding it to the installers that we maintain. If we add more CMS scripts at some point it will be the well established ones. There are more CMS scripts out there than there are ...

Re: Joomla 1.5

Correct, there is now a FTP layer, so this is no longer needed. A user now has to make an FTP account for Joomla so all files are handles trew FTP. Do you understand? You will need to and a "include FTP info" of "make FTP user" section tot the script. That might be something best left for the user ...

Re: Joomla 1.5

Any of you guys know what this var needs to be: var $log_path = '/var/logs'; //The absolute path to your Web server log directory. It's not really asking for the server logs directory is it? And are there no CHMOD requirements for 1.5? For 1.0 there were all these: $this->chmod(array('cache','images...

Re: Installatron 5.0.0 released

Hello, A quick note to anyone with Installatron 5.0.0 problems: please use the ticket system . We can't offer support here. -- morfargekko: if you want to wait a few days that's okay. Just be sure to remove your CRON updating, if you have it, otherwise Installatron will automatically upgrade itself....

Hi,

What steps do you take to see that error? What do you click and what else do you see on the screen?

Installatron 5.0 released

Installatron 5.0 has been released. This is a major new version, re-coded almost from the ground up. It features a much more powerful installer and upgrader system, an AJAX/Web2.0 interface, tons of new features for users and administrators, an installer maker, and a new website. It's really very go...

Re: Joomla 1.5

btw do you have an idea on when Installatron 5 will be stable?
Not really. Because every time I've answered that question I've been wrong. The first time I answered that I said mid June (2007).

Right now I think the answer might be: later today, or sometime tomorrow.

Re: Joomla 1.5

From those links it actually just looks like a new theme. Perhaps they wanted to get away from the old Mambo base code.

Re: Joomla 1.5

phpBB3 has the same "migration" idea, rather than an upgrade path. Not very auto-installer friendly unfortunately, though it's not uncommon. Interesting that Joomla has changed so much though. The old version is one of the best scripts we install, and it's certainly the most-installed in our lineup ...
