Re: "Feature Suggestions" section for this forum

Yeah, I noticed that you guys will often direct queries towards the ticket system, which I understand when it comes to billing and account-specific issues but, for most other issues, it seems a waste to take a discussion private. So far, I've picked up a lot of useful stuff from the forum, in partic...

Re: 644 instead of 666

But I think you should have the user install the plugin into the root directory of the Wordpress install, and that will give you full access to all the files/dirs in Wordpress. The problem is that each WordPress plugin needs to be in the plugins folder at wp-content/plugins. Following your suggesti...

Re: 644 instead of 666

I'm trying the same thing with creating and chmodding the .htaccess required for permalinks to work in WordPress, adding command to the end of the WordPress installer. Unfortunately, the same problem is occurring, file is created but with 644 permission instead of the required 666. Of course, these ...

Re: 644 instead of 666

I noticed in Example #1 of the editor's "How to create Customization Code" that, in the sample code, there is no space between the coma and the 4-digit permission number: To set a file named 'inc/example.php' to CHMOD = 707 at the end of an install, enter this line in the Install Customiza...

644 instead of 666

One of the plugins I have been making an installer for requires the creation of two files in the root folder (not in wp-content/plugins like the rest of the plugins files), chmodded to 666. Following the documentation, I added the following to the install.php: $this->write("../../sitemap.xml&qu...

Configuring a default install location

Hi, Still experimenting with making installers for WordPress plugins, I'd like to configure a default install location because it's always going to be the same, wp-content/plugins. I am aware of $this->path and $this->url but the examples given in the commands list seem to involve the location of an...

"Feature Suggestions" section for this forum

Firstly, thank you so much for answering my many, many questions; Installatron is such a wonderful product but complex and, clearly, I have a lot to learn if I want to use it to it's full potential. Hopefully, other users who encounter the same problems will find my questions and your answers here, ...

Re: Creating Installer - Extraction Error

Ah, I see, you're right, it must have been the way I uploaded it. In the meantime, I created another Installer based upon a WordPress plugin and it worked really well, no problems at all. Updating plugins via Installatron could be very useful because they each get updated so frequently. I typically ...

Creating Installer - Extraction Error

As an experiment, I created an installer (for a WordPress plugin called WP Supercache) and it all seemed fine until the archive extraction stage. I edited the control file with the correct URL and uploaded both files to an accessible location: http://paintgirls.com/wpsupercache.xml http://paintgirls...
